Don’t Let Your Past Define Your Today.

  • Reprocess Stuck Memories with EMDR: Traumatic experiences often get locked in the brain along with the raw emotional charge of the moment. Using evidence-based bilateral stimulation, EMDR helps your brain file painful memories into the past where they belong, so they stop hijacking your present.

  • Listen Beneath the Mental Story: Emotional distress and past overwhelm register in your body first—showing up as unexplained tension, shallow breathing, racing thoughts, or sudden numbness. We look beyond intellectualizing what happened to understand what your nervous system is actually carrying.

Why Talk Therapy Often Isn't Enough

You Can’t Intellectualize Your Way Out of a Physical Reflex

Most people who carry unresolved stress or trauma already understand their history inside and out. You’ve likely analyzed it, talked through it, and tried to reason your way through the triggers.

When something sets you off, your body doesn't consult your logic first:

  • Your heart races or your chest tightens without warning.

  • You find yourself bracing for disaster, scanning the room, or unable to let your guard down.

  • You hit sudden walls of emotional numbness, exhaustion, or dissociation.

  • You feel a persistent, quiet sense that you are never entirely safe or in control.

Trauma doesn't just live in our thoughts—it lives in our physiology.

When overwhelming events or prolonged emotional distress occur, the nervous system gets stuck in defensive states (fight, flight, or freeze). Even decades later, your body continues sounding an alarm for an emergency that has already passed.

Moving Beyond Words: Listening to What Your Body Already Knows

Rather than rehashing painful stories over and over, we slow down and get curious about the present moment:

  • Tracking the Physical Clues: We notice subtle changes in breath, posture, muscle tension, and gut sensations. These physical signals are direct doorways into how you organize safety, fear, and boundary-setting.

  • Completing Stuck Stress Cycles: Trauma occurs when the nervous system was overwhelmed and unable to complete its natural protective response. By tuning into physical sensations in a safe, controlled setting, your body can finally discharge that stored fight-or-flight energy.

  • Cultivating True Knowing: You move from managing symptoms in your head to experiencing an authentic, felt sense of calm, self-trust, and resilience throughout your whole system.

EMDR: Helping Your Brain Finish Processing Stuck Memories

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help the brain resolve traumatic memories, persistent grief, and deeply ingrained emotional triggers.

How it works: When a distressing event happens, normal memory processing can freeze. The memory gets locked in the brain alongside the raw emotions, physical sensations, and beliefs ("I'm not safe," "It's my fault") from that exact moment..

The bilateral mechanism: Using gentle alternating bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, audio tones, or gentle hand-held buzzers), EMDR stimulates both hemispheres of your brain. This mirrors the brain's natural processing mechanisms (similar to REM sleep).

The result: The memory doesn't vanish, but the intense emotional and physical "charge" is removed. The memory gets properly filed into the past where it belongs—allowing you to recall what happened without your nervous system reliving the threat.

My Approach: Grounded in Science, Rooted in Mindful Presence

Real trauma work requires a balance of structure and deep emotional safety. I combine:

  • Trained EMDR Protocols: Providing an intentional, phased roadmap to safely identify, desensitize, and reprocess traumatic material without flooding or re-traumatizing you.

  • Mindful Somatic Principles: Clinically trained in Hakomi graduate methods, I integrate psychotherapeutic mindfulness into sessions—slowing down to explore how physical habits and somatic holding patterns reveal subconscious beliefs.

  • Compassionate, Grounded Partnership: You are never pushed faster than your nervous system is ready to go. We work collaboratively to establish solid grounding resources before processing difficult material
